British Airways resumes direct flights from London Heathrow to Islamabad
After a hiatus of over two years, British Airways has announced the reinstatement of direct flights from London Heathrow to Islam-bad. This will be the first flight from the UK carrier to Pakistan since the 2008 Islamabad Marriot hotel bombing killed more than 50 people. The new flights are scheduled to start from June 2019 and the carrier will use the Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, which seats 300 passengers.
As a result of the increased risk of air travel, British Airways has introduced extra security measures and made passengers and crew members wear masks. In addition, hand sanitisers will be provided onboard the plane to help combat airborne diseases. Meanwhile, the British High Commission Dr Christian Turner has hailed the new flights as a “milestone in the history of British Airways service to Pakistan.”
The airline plans to resume direct flights from London Heathrow to Islam-bad on a thrice-weekly basis. Flights will depart from Terminal 5 of London Heathrow Airport on August 14 and land in Islamabad on August 16. British Airways said it has taken extra security measures to ensure that passengers and crew are safe and secure during the journey. The airline hopes the announcement will boost ties between the two countries by reconnecting people to people and trade.
A British Airways spokesperson said the airline plans to resume direct flights to the Middle East in 2019. The airline’s 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft features three-class cabin design, more space for air cargo, and an efficient technology for air-traffic management. The airline has also invested PS4.5 billion in its customers and has made significant improvements to the service to keep its customers happy. It has also installed high-quality WiFi in every seat and has taken delivery of 72 new aircraft to improve passenger comfort and convenience. It also plans to introduce a new business class seat with direct aisle access.
BA offers three classes of service
British Airways has re-established its services to Pakistan, making it the first Western carrier to do so. It will compete with Pakistan International Airlines, which has long held a monopoly on flights between the UK and Pakistan. There are three classes of service: economy, business and first class. In addition, the airline offers lie-flat seats for its business class passengers and a state-of-the-art inflight entertainment system. However, the British carrier must contend with Middle Eastern carriers who might offer lower ticket prices and other incentives.
Flights between London and Islamabad will resume on June 2, with three flights a week. The airline will fly a Boeing 787 Dreamliner on the route and will offer three classes of service for passengers. All three classes feature free Wi-Fi and a variety of in-flight entertainment options.
British Airways First Class is the most luxurious class of service, offering a personal suite, exclusive spa treatments, and a gourmet meal. This class is available only on long-haul flights. In First Class, passengers have access to the Concorde Room, a private room with full waiter service and total intimacy. In addition to the fine dining experience, passengers can also indulge in relaxing aromatherapy treatments and a Liberty of London amenity kit.
British Airways is a member of the Oneworld alliance and has codeshare agreements with many airlines. Its aircraft fleet includes more than 250 aircraft. Its hub airport is Heathrow Airport in west London. British Airways flies to 183 destinations worldwide, including all six continents.
World Traveller, World Traveller Plus and Club World offer halal meals
As Pakistan is a predominantly Muslim country, British Airways will offer halal meals in all cabins on flights to and from the country. The airline will also make sure to ensure that all sauces and condiments do not contain alcohol. The airline will also provide vegetarian and vegan options. The return fares are relatively low, starting at PS488 for a one-way ticket to Islamabad.
Those looking for premium economy can consider British Airways’ premium economy service, which features upgraded seating, great meals, in-flight entertainment, and superior customer service. The airline also caters to dietary requirements and provides meals that are halal, kosher, and vegan.
Despite the fact that BA Pakistan has a halal dining policy, it is not the norm in the airline industry. Customers with specific dietary requirements need to alert the airline to their special dietary needs so that they can make arrangements accordingly. In addition to halal menus in all cabins, British Airways also provides vegetarian, vegan and halal options.
British Airways has recently announced that flights between London and Islamabad will resume on June 2nd, after eleven years of inactivity. The airline will operate three flights a week on Boeing 787 Dreamline aircraft. These flights are intended to bolster trade links between the UK and Pakistan.
Flight crews were accommodated at a nearby hotel
British Airways flight crews were recently caught running around in corridors while naked and tried to steal fish from a pond in the hotel lobby. The airline has had to deal with many staff disciplinary issues over the years, including in Singapore, Las Vegas and Bangkok. While many staff members are well-behaved and friendly, some have gone too far. This incident came to light after British Airways’ bosses sent a furious email to their crews, warning them of the dangers of misbehaving while working overseas.
As a precautionary measure, airlines have been swapping accommodation for flight crews when problems arise. The move to temporarily move flight crews to airport hotels is being considered by many airlines across the US. USA Today reported on the decision on Monday, citing an internal memo sent to employees last week.
Airlines often divide flight crews based on their arrival time, with morning crews staying in Hotel A, while evening crews spend the night at Hotel B. Alternatively, the airline might have more than one hotel partner, and put the entire crew in one hotel. Some airlines also divide crews based on the length of a layover. Those with short layovers stay in a hotel closer to the airport.
IAG Cargo carried aid to Pakistan
British Airways and IAG Cargo have flown 34 tons of emergency aid to Pakistan to assist in the relief efforts after the devastating floods in the country. The flights carried non-perishable food, tents, clothing and medical supplies. The flights were operated by specially selected cabin crew and partnered with key charities. The flights will continue to transport aid in the coming weeks.
Among the many charities and organizations that are sending aid to Pakistan are British Airways and IAG Cargo. The airline companies are working together with the Disasters Emergency Committee to bring relief to the affected areas. They have selected specially trained cabin crew members to deliver the humanitarian aid.
British Airways has a long history of humanitarian efforts, but the recent flights to Pakistan represent a new milestone. It was the first time that British Airways has flown aid from India to Pakistan since the September 11, 2001 attacks. In addition to delivering humanitarian aid, the airlines are maintaining their vital air link between the two countries. They also arranged for a special charter flight that landed in Delhi at 5:45am local time.
