Swabi is a city in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province that is close to the Indus River’s banks. It is the eighth largest city in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and the 73rd largest city in all of Pakistan. Swabi, which is the second-largest city in Mardan Division, is also a significant city.
Gadoon Amazai
Gadoon Amazai Industrial Estate is one of Pakistan’s big industrial zones. It was set up with the intention of creating employment opportunities and reintegrating the area of Gadoon, Swabi district, into the industrial network of Pakistan. Unfortunately, it’s been hit by a string of setbacks. The government of the day didn’t do much to help, and now only a handful of industrial units are functioning at the industrial estate. Unemployment is a serious problem in the area.
The name of the Gadoon Amazai Industrial Estate was chosen because of the hard times in the area. The industrial area is about 120 kilometres from Peshawar and 140 km from Islamabad. Moreover, it is a popular hunting spot. Locals here speak the Pashto and Hindko Languages. However, very few understand Urdu.
Yusuf Khan
The father of polymorphic Super Hero Kamala Khan, Yusuf Khan is a serious man who works hard for his family. Originally from Pakistan, Yusuf and his wife, Muneeba, immigrated to Jersey City with their son, Aamir, and daughter, Kamala. They have raised their daughter in the Muslim faith and work as bankers to support their family.
As a young man, Yusuf Khan Swabi came from a small village near Mardan, where the Turlandi people claim his birthplace. After his father died, he had to help his mother and sister. Every week, he would go hunting to provide his family with food.
One night, Yusuf Khan and Sher Bano walked through the village. Sher Bano waited for their arrival and saw the two of them. Although they never spoke to one another, the two quietly exchanged glances. Boolanda told Yousaf Khan about the incident the next night, when his brother came to visit him. Yousaf Khan beat her for telling her brother. He also told her to not talk about the incident in front of his brother.
The people of Swabi are passionate about sports. Their athletes have made names for themselves both nationally and internationally. The region has many players in cricket, valley ball, and football. World-renowned googly bowler Abdual Qadir Khan, who is from Swabi, played in the Pakistan national team. Moheen Khan was also a wicket-keeper and a good all-rounder. The younger generation has played from the Abbottabad Club, and includes Zohaib Ali Tariq and Ahmad Ali Tariq.
Sherbano
Sherbano Swabi was a young woman from Pakistan who became famous in the early 19th century. She had an extraordinary character, and the men of her village admired her for it. Her father was furious when he heard of her intentions, and he vowed to kill her for her honor. But Sherbano’s mother persisted and persuaded Yousaf to agree to marry her. They were able to make the match and soon the wedding preparations began in both houses.
Sherbano and Yousuf Khan were the two main characters of the Pashtun folktale. Yousuf Khan was a young hunter, and he would walk to the Kharamar Hills to hunt for game. On his way, he met Sherbano. The two fell in love. Unfortunately, fate had other plans for the two lovers.
Sher Bano Swabi was a beautiful and intelligent young girl. One day, while resting, she was awakened by barking dogs and ringing bells. She stepped outside and looked over the wall to greet passing people. She was unaware that a handsome man, Yousaf Khan, had passed her.
Hund
Hund in Swabi is a small village located 80 km east of Peshawar on the right bank of the Indus River. It is considered one of the most beautiful areas of the country and has a lot to offer travelers. It is an excellent place to relax and unwind, and to experience the culture and hospitality of the local people.
A small village with about 80 households, Hund is situated on the banks of the Indus River, near the town of Attock in Swabi district. It is home to one of the most important Gandhara ruins in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, and is an ideal location for picnics in the summer. Tourists can enjoy a beautiful riverside view at Hund, or visit the town’s museum to see antiques excavated from the town’s ruins.
In July, a delegation from South Korea visited the area, and they were impressed by the religious relics that were preserved here. They expressed an interest in declaring Yeonggwang and Swabi sister cities. This has not stopped many tourists from visiting the area, however, and the town has become popular with tourists from other countries.
Ghazi-Bharota Dam
The construction of the Ghazi-Bharota Dam is causing a great deal of controversy in Pakistan. It is the first large run-of-river dam in the country, and it violates riparian rights by diverting a natural watercourse. Moreover, Pakistan claims that the dam is a threat to upstream India’s water supply. These disputes over fresh water resources are at the root of many international conflicts.
The Ghazi-Bharota Hydropower Project is one of the largest in the world. It is located on the Indus River in the north-western part of Pakistan. It has a maximum capacity of 290MW and has 5 generators that each produce up to 70 megawatts. Construction began in 1995 and was completed in December 2004. The project was funded by the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank.
This project involves diverting water from the Indus River near the village of Ghazi, which is located 7 km downstream of the Tarbela Dam. This water is then channeled through a 52km long concrete-lined open power channel, where it passes through five powerhouses. The water is used for both electricity and water supply.
Tordher
Tordher is a town in the Swabi District, Pakistan. It is the second largest trading city in the district. It is located on the banks of two major rivers, the Indus and the Kabul. The town is home to nearly 50,000 people and is one of the largest trading centers in the country.
