It is a mix of modern eateries and traditional restaurants, with many of the restaurants displaying century-old artwork and statues. The area also includes remnants of old temples and churches, and you can even take in views of the Badshahi Mosque from the rooftops.

He later studied art and became a teacher at the National College of Art in Lahore. He eventually freed his aunt and sister from the bonds of prostitution and turned their home into a restaurant.

The ambiance of the food street is reminiscent of the Royal Kitchen, which was once the home of royalty. It served enticing cuisines to the royals. The Khana also had a number of chefs who were famous all over the sub-continent. Besides the food, the menu included many drinks and sweets. Some of these included the famous Gulab Jaman.

Lakshmi Chowk

Cuckoo’s Den
