Narowal is a city in northeastern Punjab, Pakistan. It is the capital of Narowal district and is part of the Gujranwala division. It is the 94th largest city in the country. The city is home to numerous industrial units. It was formerly part of Amritsar.

Historically, the city was ruled by many peoples. The Kushan Empire and Kushano-Hephthalites ruled over the region and later, during the British Raj. Then, during the Sikh Empire, the region became part of the Gurdaspur District and Amritsar. At that time, Muslims faced many restrictions.
Narowal is located in Punjab. It is governed by the Islamic calendar. The Islamic calendar uses a lunar calendar that is updated every day. The city has a unique calendar, as its days are shorter. Manmohan Jaffar memorial hockey challenge cup, played under the Lahore division.
The city is home to several educational institutes and universities. Narowal has the highest literacy rate among its neighbouring districts. Various colleges and universities are located in the city, including the University of Narowal, which was previously a subcampus of the University of Gujrat. The town also boasts the University College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences.
It is a former portion of Amritsar
Narowal is the capital of Narowal District. The district was created on 1 July 1991. The exact date of the formation of Narowal has not been documented, however, there are some indications that the district was created at that time. In 1488, the Hindus of the Aror tribe, which was part of the District Multan, converted to Islam. Syed Habib Shah came to the region and developed it. He brought various Muslim clans to the region.
In 1947, Krishan Baldev Duggal was a teenager, part of the enviable Khatri community from the Narowal tehsil. He crossed the border and lived in Amritsar for a while. Later, he became a retired SDO in the Punjab irrigation department. He was raised in a village close to Kartarpur Sahib.
The River Ravi originates in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. Previously, it was part of the Punjab Hill States. The Madhopur Headworks in Pathankot allowed the river to enter Punjab and meander between the towns of Amritsar and Narowal. The Pathankot Branch Line is 67 miles long and was first opened in 1884. Its northern section connects Narowal with Sheikhupura.
Narowal City is located on the border between India and Pakistan. The city is approximately 115 kilometers from Lahore and is home to the Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara, where the Sikh Guru spent his last 18 years.
It has a sewerage system
Narowal City has a sewerage systems and has a sewerage system for its people. The city was founded 900 years ago by Baba Naro Bajwa and 22 villages were inhibited by the Bajwa clan. The city was later developed by Syed Habib Shah, who brought the Kamboh and Aroud castes.

She was briefed about the project by Wasa officials. Other prominent people present at the event included Mian Hamid Mahmood, Rana Naseem, and Mian Nadeem.
The Narowal City was initially part of the Sialkot district, but later got its own district status and became a District. It is surrounded by Jammu, India, and Gurdaspur, Pakistan.
