After a lot of speculation, Pakistan Cricket Board has finally announced the team squad for the T20 World Cup. This tournament will be held in New Zealand, which will also feature Bangladesh. Before the T20 World Cup, the Pakistan team will play a tri-series in New Zealand. Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Haris and Shahnawaz Dahani have been named as traveling reserves.
Mohammad Wasim Jnr.
Mohammad Wasim Wazir is a cricketer from Pakistan. He made his international debut in July 2021. He is currently an in-form player for the Pakistan team. He has a long way to go to become one of the best in the world. He is only 19 years old but already has the talent to go far in his chosen sport.
Mohammad Wasim is considered one of the best pacers in Pakistan. He is a member of the T20I World Cup squad and is touring the West Indies at the moment. He was also named to the squad of Pakistan for the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup and the 2021 Pakistan Cup. He has also made the list A for the next two Pakistan series against New Zealand.
The Pakistan cricket team has praised Mohammad Wasim Jr. for his ability to bowl and bat. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-pace bowler. He averages about a run per over in the T20 format. He has also played for Pakistan’s U19 team and Islamabad United.
After suffering a left-side strain during a practice session, Mohammad Wasim Jr. will not be available for the T20 Asia Cup. Hasan Ali will be the next in line. However, the ETC has to approve Hasan Ali’s selection before he can play in the tournament.
Mohammad Hasnain
The ICC T20 World Cup is just around the corner and Pakistan have announced their squad for the competition. The side features five batsmen, one wicketkeeper-batter, three all-rounders and six bowlers. Mohammad Hasnain, Shan Masood, Haris Rauf and Shadab Khan have all been named in the squad for the tournament. There are also two additional reserve players: Mohammad Haris and Khushdil Shah.
The Pakistan Cricket Board have also named their squad for the three-match tri-series against New Zealand and England, which will take place prior to the T20 World Cup. Mohammad Hasnain is a new face in the team. He replaces Mohammad Shaheen. The team has performed well since November 2021 and have won nine of their 13 T20Is.
After his suspension from international cricket in February, Hasnain has bounced back with a vengeance. In the English county circuit, he was an instant hit. Marcus Stoinis even mimicked his ‘throw’ after the ICC action correction work. As for Hasnain’s future in international cricket, the ICC remains silent about the issue.
Mohammad Hasnain has been called up by the Pakistan cricket team to replace the injured Shaheen Shah Afridi in the T20 World Cup. Hasnain is a right-arm pacer who has played eight ODIs for the country. He has also picked up 17 wickets in T20Is.
Iftikhar Ahmed
Iftikhar Ahmed was selected by the Pakistan selection committee for the T20 World Cup, a move that may have prompted some to question the role of the chief selector. The selection committee decided against including Shoaib Malik, who has not played for Pakistan since the 2017 World Cup. They also decided to retain Iftikhar Ahmed, despite his recent poor form in the Asia Cup.
Iftikhar Ahmed is a spinner who can provide spin to the Pakistan bowling attack. The selectors have also picked Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah for the fast bowling department. Meanwhile, Usman Qadir has been chosen to take care of the pace department, while Shadab Khan will manage the spin department. As for the standbys, Mohammad Nawaz and Shadab Khan have been selected to replace injured players. The team is divided into two groups: one with India, another with South Africa.
The Pakistan team has dominated in the T20 format and their top order has been a key to their success. In the shortest format, they are led by sensational batsmen such as Mohammed Rizwan, who currently top the ICC men’s T20I rankings. Meanwhile, Babar Azam is the team’s most consistent player. Iftikhar Ahmed can be a vital cog in the middle overs.
Pakistan Cricket Board has unveiled their squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. The tournament takes place in Australia from 16 October to 13 November. Pakistan is grouped with India in Group 2 and will face India in their first match on October 23.
Sharjeel Khan
Pakistan selectors have not included Sharjeel Khan in their 15-man squad for the T20 World Cup. Sharjeel Khan was left out due to his involvement in spot-fixing. He was also not included in the travelling reserves. This is being said to be due to the influence of Ramiz Raja, who wants to keep corrupt players out of the team. The batting legend has a poor record since he came back to the national side in March. He will likely be replaced by Sohaib Maqsood, who has been a steady performer for Pakistan.
Mohammad Haris is another player who has been included in the T20 World Cup squad. Mohammad Haris has played four ODIs for Pakistan. His best performances were in the National T20 Championship. He was a crucial player in Sindh’s maiden T20 triumph.
Sharjeel Khan is the only batting player who was not selected in the 15-man squad for the T20 World Cup. Other players included in the team include Mohammad Asif, Hasan Ali and Mohammad Hasnain. The PCB will not make any changes in the squad without the approval of the Event Technical Committee.
The fast bowling battery of Pakistan is an exciting one. If Shaheen Afridi can complete his rehab in time, he will be a thorn in the stumps in Australia. Haris Rauf has stepped up in his absence, as well. He is a versatile player who can bowl the new ball as well as death overs.
Shoaib Malik
The Pakistan team has decided not to include Shoaib Malik in the squad for the T20 World Cup. The former skipper has turned 40 years old and the selectors are keen on promoting younger players. Malik has been in good form lately, but his omission from the squad has raised questions.
Pakistan have been having problems naming a reliable opening pair, but Malik has a proven record of batting in different positions. His batting average is above 80 in ODIs and Tests. He has also shown good defensive batting. In his ODI career, he has scored over 1,000 runs.
Pakistan have made changes to the squad after analysing the performances of players. The team is set to compete in the T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates from October 17 to November 14. The Pakistan team will travel to Dubai on October 15 and play two warm-up games against the West Indies and South Africa. The first game of the tournament will be against India on October 24 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Earlier, Pakistan had named a 15-member squad. However, a few players have pulled out. Fakhar Zaman has recovered from a side strain and was part of the Asia Cup squad. Then, Shaheen Afridi was injured in the final against Northern Punjab. Hence, the Pakistani team has to take care of their middle order.
Shan Masood
Shan Masood has been named in the team squad of Pakistan for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia. This is his first call-up to a Pakistan team in T20Is. Since making his international debut in 2013, he has played 25 Tests and five ODIs. However, he has never played a T20I.
Fakhar Zaman has been dropped from the Pakistan team for the T20 World Cup, and Shan Masood has been called up to replace him. Fakhar Zaman is also a travel reserve for the tournament. However, Shan Masood’s recent form has earned him a call-up. He has been scoring runs in domestic and international leagues, and has earned his place in the Pakistan team squad.
While Fakhar Zaman is out of the squad due to a knee injury, Shan Masood has received his maiden T20I call-up. Another player ruled out of the squad is Shahnawaz Dahani, who was injured while playing in the Asia Cup. Shan Masood and Mohammad Hasnain are the other two batsmen named in the team.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has named a 15-man squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia in 2022. The tournament will be played in October and November in Australia. The team is led by captain Babar Azam while Shadab Khan is the vice-captain. Shan Masood is a first-time T20 call-up after a successful run in the Asian Cup.
