Azhar Ali is a former Pakistani cricket captain who is a right-handed batsman. He played for the Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League. He played for Pakistan in both Test and ODI cricket. Azhar Ali is a right-handed batsman

Azhar Ali is a right-handed cricket batsman from Pakistan. Born on 19 February 1985 in Lahore, Pakistan, Azhar Ali has played cricket for Pakistan for over ten years. He started his career in the domestic circuit as an opening batsman and later went on to play for the national team. Having made his international debut against Australia in 2010, he made an impressive debut, scoring 51 in the second innings to help Pakistan chase down a 180-run target. This performance earned him a place in the Pakistan team and earned him a place in history.

Azhar Ali was appointed captain of Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League in 2016. He played seven matches for the team and scored 180 runs. Afterwards, he signed a contract with Somerset for their final seven matches of the County Championship season. He replaced the injured Matt Renshaw and scored an impressive century in his debut against Worcestershire in 2017.

Azhar Ali has played as an opener for Pakistan in the past, but he has always preferred the #3 position. He has accumulated 1556 runs in 37 innings as an opener for Pakistan in Test cricket. His Balls Per Dismissal (BPD) ratio is 106.2.

He is a former captain of Pakistan’s cricket team

Azhar Ali has had an exceptional career with the Pakistan cricket team. He has led the team to victory in 39 Test matches and 14 ODIs. Azhar was nearly axed from the Pakistan Test squad before Misbah-ul-Haq persuaded the selection panel to include him. Azhar returned to the Pakistan playing XI in the 3 rd Test at Sharjah and scored a crucial century in the fourth innings.

Azhar Ali is an opening batsman and part-time leg spinner, with a solid technique and a calm crease. He rose steadily through the ranks of Pakistan’s domestic game. He first played for Khan Research Laboratories and scored two hundreds in five games. He then moved up the ladder to Lahore Qalandars, where he averaged over 40 and was named captain.

Azhar Ali is a former captain of the Pakistan cricket team. He served as captain of the team from 2015 to 2017 but was relieved of the post due to poor results. In October of 2018, Azhar was appointed captain of the Babar side in white-ball formats and Test cricket. His 6,000th Test run came in the third Test against England.

Azhar Ali has a rich cricketing past, having played for Lahore Qalandar Cricket Club in the early days. He was a good scorer for the team, and has also played for the Pakistani national team. He was the first day-night Test centurion. He was born in Lahore and started playing cricket at a young age. He first played domestic cricket for Khar Research Laboratories, where he scored two centuries in five matches. Later, he became the captain of Lahore Qalandars and was selected in the Pakistan Test Team. He made his ODI debut in July 2010.

In 2012, Azhar Ali was selected for the Pakistan tour of Sri Lanka. He scored 96 in the second ODI and 81* in the fourth. He became the second Pakistani to carry the bat after Saeed Anwar and finished the series as the leading run-scorer. In 2013, he was selected in the 17-man squad for a home test series against South Africa. In the first test, Azhar Ali scored a half-century but was dismissed for 51.

He took 2 wickets in 2 PSL innings

Azhar Ali took two wickets in two PSL innings, both against Australia. In the first innings, he dismissed the Australian skipper, who was clocked regularly at over 135km/h. He posed a challenge by scooping out a lbw appeal on the fourth ball of the 86th over. The 37-year-old batting star had attempted a straight drive from a fullish ball, but he could not keep the ball down to the ground. Azhar was sent back to the pavilion.

Azhar was just a teenager when he first made his mark in the Test circuit. During his 4th Test match against England at Lord’s, the Butt-Asif-Amir scandal broke out and he was forced to endure one of the toughest periods of his life.

Azhar Ali made his Pakistan debut against Australia in July 2010. In October 2016, he was promoted to a part-time leg-break bowler. He was the first player to become a triple centurion in a day/night test. This demonstrates his ability to change the game quickly.

Azhar Ali’s performance was well above his average in Test cricket. After 24 matches, he averaged 45.3 and had 17 fifty-plus scores. He also scored four hundreds. After being drafted into the Pakistan senior team, he was an important player in the batting order.

He scored 19 centuries in Tests

Azhar Ali had a prolific career in Test cricket, scoring 1641 runs from 18 Tests and averaging 51.3. During his time with Pakistan, he notched up 17 centuries and four half-centuries, and scored two double-hundreds. Most notably, he scored an unbeaten triple-hundred against the West Indies in Dubai. This made him the fourth Pakistani batsman to reach the triple-hundred mark in Test cricket. He joined legendary batsmen Hanif Mohammad and Younis Khan in this honor.

Azhar Ali established himself as one of Pakistan’s greatest batsmen during his career. He was able to make his first fifty at Headingley in 2010 and went on to make ten more fifty-plus scores. By the end of the year, he was the first Pakistani batsman to score two double-hundreds in a calendar year. In addition, he was the first Pakistani batman to score a century against Australia in a Test match. Despite his record-breaking performances, Pakistan were able to lose the Boxing Day Test series 3-0 to Australia.

Azhar Ali scored 19 centuries in Test cricket after making his debut against Australia in 2010. Azhar was almost axed from the Pakistan Test squad for the Sri Lanka series but was able to persuade the selection panel to keep him in the squad. After failing to score a century in the first two Tests, he made his comeback in the second game against the West Indies. In the third game of the series, he scored a crucial century in the fourth innings.

He captained Pakistan in the 2015 World Cup

Azhar Ali has been named as the new captain of Pakistan’s one-day national team, replacing Misbah Ahmed. The PCB made the appointment despite his poor form in the 2015 World Cup. Azhar has not played a test match for Pakistan since then, and his last one-day international appearance was over two years ago. However, he remains the country’s best batsman in all formats.

Azhar Ali was appointed ODI captain after the 2015 World Cup, taking over from Misbah-ul-Haq. Azhar led Pakistan to a record-low ranking of ninth in ODIs and a second-best ODI ranking of eighth. Azhar’s tenure as captain was not without controversy. After a series loss to Australia, Azhar resigned as captain after Pakistan’s fourth defeat of the tournament.

Azhar was appointed as ODI captain after the 2015 World Cup, but lost the one-day international match to Australia. Azhar has led Pakistan to wins over Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in domestic ODIs, and led the team to the National T20 Championship. The PCB has stated that an appraisal of Azhar has been carried out. The PCB CEO, Wasim Khan, has already met with Azhar and is expected to meet with him again in the next ten days.

Azhar Ali has been with the Pakistan Test team for half a decade. His passion for the game has been evident in his recent performances. He has also won the Man of the Match award. Azhar Ali is a highly respected member of the Pakistani dressing room.
