Patients taking Diagesic should avoid rubbing the medication on the eye or mucosa. If the substance accidentally gets into the eye, the patient should flush the eye with water and consult a physician immediately. Patients should also avoid using Diagesic when taking other products containing NSAIDs. This could increase the risk of stomach bleeding or liver damage.

It may cause premature closure of the fetal ductus arteriosus

Premature closure of the fetal ductus is a rare complication of pregnancy and may result from maternal medication or spontaneous development. The ductus arteriosus connects the pulmonary artery to the descending aorta and is essential for normal fetal development. Although it normally closes within 24 hours after birth, in some cases it takes longer to close.

When pregnant, women should avoid using Diagesic p. It can cause congestive heart failure and edema. If these symptoms occur, contact a health care provider immediately. Patients should also avoid using Diagesic if they develop a rash. This medicine is not recommended for women who are more than 30 weeks pregnant.

Pregnancy-related toxicity should carefully monitor after treatment with an NSAID. If the duct closes before the end of the pregnancy, the fetus should be delivered as soon as possible. The drug’s side effects may include anemia, caused by fluid retention or an incompletely characterized effect on erythropoiesis. The use of NSAIDs may also increase the risk of bleeding, particularly when combined with serotonin reuptake inhibitors or coagulation disorders.

Premature babies are often born with a patent ductus arteriosus. This condition accounts for 9% to 12% of cases of congenital heart disease. Traditionally, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) have used to treat this condition. While these drugs are considered safe and effective, they have been linked to nephrotoxicity. Paracetamol, for instance, has shown to cause transient elevations of liver enzymes. Further studies need to confirm the safety and effectiveness of these drugs as well as determine the lowest effective dose.
