Why Do I Sweat in My Sleep?

Why Do I Sweat in My Sleep? If you’ve been experiencing night sweats and you’d like to find a solution, you should speak to your doctor. He or she will be able to determine the most likely cause of the problem and recommend a treatment plan. You may find that the cause is something more serious, such as a sleep disorder.

Night sweats are common in people with certain health conditions. For example, people suffering from menopause often sweat while sleeping. Other possible causes are infections or side effects of medication. If you suspect that your night sweats are due to a serious illness, you should consult with a medical professional. He or she will perform tests to find out the exact cause of your condition.

If your night sweats caused by a specific medication, you should contact your physician to find out what it is. Depending on the cause, a doctor may recommend switching to a different medication or decreasing the dose. You should never change medication without consulting your doctor. If the problem caused by an infection, your immune system may produce more white blood cells, which in turn increases body temperature, resulting in sweating.

Why Do I Sweat in My Sleep? You can reduce the severity of night sweats by turning down the thermostat in the bedroom. Additionally, cutting back on caffeine and meal intake before bedtime can help. However, you should visit your doctor if the problem persists. A sleep doctor will be able to help you get a proper diagnosis and treatment for night sweats.
