Pre-existing medical conditions

People who have pre-existing medical conditions should speak to their doctor before using Clexane injection. It can cause some serious side effects. These include bleeding and rash, itchiness, and pain at the injection site. More severe side effects include allergic reactions, severe bruising or abdominal pain, and numbness. A full list of possible side effects is available in the Clexane Medicine Information (CMI).

People with kidney problems should consult a doctor before using this medicine. The injection itself is a clear, pale yellow solution. The patient information leaflet for Clexane explains that it should be injected under a healthcare provider’s guidance. People with kidney problems should avoid extreme weather conditions, and they should not leave it in the glove compartment of a car.

People with kidney disease should not use Clexane if they have a heart condition or other medical conditions. The drug can interfere with the body’s ability to form blood clots. A pharmacist will be able to help with any questions. Patients are usually given a single dose of 20 mg once a day.

Before injecting yourself, make sure you wash your hands thoroughly. Make sure that the area of the abdomen where the injection is to give is, not irritated or inflamed. If the injection site becomes sore, you should change the site. Also, learn how to properly store and dispose of your medical supplies.

Interactions with other medicines

Clexane is a prescription-only medicine that contains enoxaparin, a low-molecular-weight heparin. It prevents blood from clotting and is, used after surgery to repair bone or tissue. It also prevents clots when filtered through an artificial kidney. Clexane is important to talk to your doctor about any other medicines you are taking before taking Clexane.

When taking Clexane, your pharmacist will tell you whether it will interact with other medicines. Paracetamol, co-codamol, and codeine are all safe to take with Clexane. However, you should avoid non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Anticoagulant medicines should also be avoided when taking Clexane.

If you are using Clexane as prescribed, you should follow your doctor’s instructions and follow all dosage instructions. Avoid giving the medicine to others and do not change the dosage without consulting a doctor. You should also avoid mixing Clexane with other injections or infusion fluids.

Do not overdose on Clexane

It is important to store Clexane in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and heat. Keep the syringes in their packaging until you are ready to use them. Also, don’t leave Clexane injections on window sills or in your car. It is best to store Clexane away from young children. Once you have finished using Clexane, you should throw away the medicine properly. Also, make sure you do not use it beyond its expiry date. Like any medicine, Clexane can have side effects. Most of these are minor but some may be serious and require medical attention.

To avoid the risk of infection and possible side effects, the correct dosage must be given. A doctor will prescribe the correct amount of Clexane. The needle should be sterile and coated with silicon to prevent crystallisation. The needle should insert vertically into a fold of the skin. Do not rub the area with your finger or thumb after administration. Once you are finished using Clexane, dispose of the needle.

It is important to note that Clexane can interfere with certain types of anaesthetic injections in the back. Moreover, you should never share or give Clexane injections to other people who may have the same condition.

Clexane is only for medical purposes. It should not be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. You should also consult a doctor if you are not sure about the dosage of this drug. If you think you have taken too much Clexane, call your doctor immediately or the nearest Poisons Information Centre. You can also contact the National Poisons Information Centre in Australia or New Zealand.

If you take other medicines, consult your doctor about whether Clexane is compatible with them. Your doctor may recommend other medications or dosages. If you are on warfarin sodium, you should start it within 72 hours of Clexane use. You should not take more than 20 mg daily.
