The construction of a twelve-story building at the Islamabad IT Park is well under way. The boundary wall, drain channels, electrical connections, and procurement work have already been completed. The Exim Bank of South Korea has provided a USD 76.3 million loan for this purpose. Moreover, the Pakistan Software Exchange Board has already planned a series of activities and IT awareness programs at the IT park.
Construction has already begun on the twelve-story building
The main building of the Information Technology Park will be ready by next month. The project has already undergone several approvals including the Environmental Protection Agency’s NOC and the Capital Development Authority’s building plan approval. The building will be a self-contained, twelve-story facility covering 66893 square meters. It is expected to generate at least 15,000 new jobs for the city.
The project is a part of the Blue Group of Companies, which employs over 300 people. It has a long history of completing projects in Pakistan, including the PIA co-operative society, Center Park Lahore, and Blue Mart and Technologies. The project will be completed in a few years, and it will feature executive, premium plus, and luxury apartments.
The project will also include an environmentally friendly residential community. The community will have a valley-like setting surrounded by beautiful floral scenery. Its residents will be eco-conscious and enjoy the beautiful city’s natural surroundings. The Park View City development is expected to be finished in two to three years. However, the overall development time will be around two to three decades.
The project is being developed in partnership with the Shan Jian Municipal Engineering Company and the Blue Group of companies. The project is near the CPEC Route, a joint venture between Pakistan and China, and is set to enhance the economic relationship between the two countries. The vast majority of CPEC workers will be Chinese, and the Blue World City will be able to provide excellent accommodation for their employees.
The National Logistic Cell submitted the lowest bid of Rs1,274.5 million, but the final decision is still pending. The building will be constructed near Savour Foods in the Blue Area. In addition, the project will be home to several other companies.
The project is being done with the assistance of volunteers. The project director will personally supervise the development work and file weekly reports.
Work on drain channels, electrical connections, and procurement has already been completed
There are already several companies in the park that will be working in different sectors. The Saudi Development Fund (SDF) has provided funding for this project. The project is scheduled for implementation from 2021 to 2025. A dedicated team of the EAD is working on the issues that are hindering the progress of projects and is ensuring that the projects are completed on time. The ministry is also working on a dashboard that will keep all stakeholders informed about the progress of the project.
Earlier, a delegation from the Asia Infrastructure and Investment Bank (AIIB) led by Supee Teravaninthom and senior officers from the Finance Division attended the meeting. The Finance Minister welcomed the delegation and discussed the current budgetary measures and the targeted revenue goals. He also updated the delegation about the impact of the recent floods in Pakistan.
