NO-SPA Tablet Uses and Precautions

NO-SPA is a medication that reduces smooth muscle contractions in the urinary, gastrointestinal, and gall bladder tracts. Unlike papaverine, it doesn’t act on the central nervous system or autonomic nervous system. The drug directly acts on smooth muscle, so it is especially useful in conditions such as prostatic hypertrophy and glaucoma.

Side effects

The No-Spa Tablet contains various ingredients which may cause certain side effects. Some of these side effects are uncommon and harmless, while others may be more serious. Therefore, before you begin using this drug, you should read the package leaflet and consult your doctor. You can also contact your local food and drug administration authority for advice.

NO-SPA Tablet works as an antispasmodic, reducing the discomforts associated with stomach and intestinal cramping. It works by relaxing the stomach and intestine muscles, which slows the movement of the intestines. However, taking too much of the drug can cause adverse effects. This includes reduced sweating, flushed skin, gastrointestinal distress, loss of coordination, and decreased sexual ability.

The No-Spa Tablet contains Drotaverine, an antispasmodic drug that inhibits phosphodiesterase 4, found in smooth muscle cells. Among its indications, Drotaverine is, used to reduce pain associated with cholecystitis, renal colic, and functional bowel disorders.

Dosage

NO-SPA tablets are, used to treat pain related to renal colic and functional bowel disorders. These tablets contain drotaverine hydrochloride, a substance that inhibits the action of PDE4 in smooth muscle cells. They can use in the treatment of glaucoma and prostatic hypertrophy. However, they should not be taken without consulting a doctor.

NO-SPA tablets come in two forms, as tablets and as an injection. The tablets contain the active substance, drotaverine hydrochloride, which is available in dosages of 40 mg and 20 mg. The drug is also available in a solution for injection, which contains sterile water, 96% ethanol, sodium disulfite, and lactose monohydrate.
