Bao Fazal
In the 1970s, Bao Fazal started a photocopying business to earn extra money. He also started selling 35mm film rolls for cameras. In 1995, he expanded his business by becoming the sole distributor of Mitsubishi film rolls and printing papers. In 1995, he became a whole seller for Mitsubishi in Pakistan. But by the end of the decade, his business was on a decline, as digital cameras became increasingly popular.
Bao Fazal grew up in a low-income family and worked for his father in a tea stall in Lahore. In the evenings, he would work at the tea stall, develop his film and make prints of the pictures he had taken. He was so tired of waiting for the customers and was desperate to try something else. He seized the opportunity and started taking pictures of the people he saw.
Bao Fazal had previously worked with the Mitsubishi company, and had been selling Mitsubishi products for a while. In 2004, he imported 500 air conditioners from Japan, selling them all in a few weeks. He continued to import air conditioners until 2004, when he decided to start making them in Pakistan.
