Timergara, Pakistan, is a city in Lower Dir District. It lies on the east bank of the Panjkora River at an altitude of 823 metres. The city is noted for its ancient Indo-Aryan graves dating back to around 1500 BC. The population is about 20,000 people.

Population

Timergara is a city in the Lower Dir District of Pakistan. It lies on the east bank of the Panjkora River at an altitude of 900 meters. It has been continuously occupied since the time of Aryans, approximately 1500 BC. The town is home to archaeological remains, including excavated Aryan graves and houses. The city also contains numerous fire altars. The current population is 43,774.

The population of Timergara was analyzed to determine the prevalence of H. pylori infection. The researchers also determined the risk factors associated with disease development. The study involved 520 people, of which 115 were positive for H. pylori infection, while 405 were negative. The infection was detected using an indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The study found that the majority of infected individuals were males.

Climate

The climate of Timargara is tropical, which means that it has a long hot summer and a cold winter. Temperatures in Timargara rarely go below 26degF or rise above 104degF. The best time to visit the area for swimming and other outdoor activities is from late May to mid-September, when temperatures are at their highest. Hospital

Since 2009, Medecins Sans Frontieres/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) has been supporting the District Headquarter Hospital in Timergara with a support program to develop emergency services and a routine triage system for the emergency department. In addition, MSF has developed a plan to respond to the large number of people who come to the hospital for emergency treatment.

Recently, a protest took place, blocking the Timergara-Chitral road. The protesters alleged that a child had died at the Timergara hospital due to medical negligence. The hospital administration was subsequently ordered to improve its staff service delivery and ensure that doctors are present in emergency theatres. The administration also requested for extra funds for the hospital. There have also been complaints about frequent load-shedding and lack of gas in the area, which affected the hospital’s ability to provide emergency care.

Timergara’s district headquarter hospital will soon be granted the status of a teaching hospital. A new medical college is planned to be established nearby, and classes will begin next session. Deputy commissioner Lower Dir Atta ur Rehman attended the function. He said that the establishment of the TMC had long been the goal of the JI chief.

The Lower Dir deputy commissioner also directed the medical superintendent to perform essential clinical tests during the night, and to make CCTV cameras and biometric attendance records functional. Moreover, the deputy commissioner expressed displeasure at the poor sanitation at the hospital, and requested the MS to improve the sanitary conditions in the hospital within three days. He also asked the MS to make the burns ward functional.

Timargara’s weather is temperate, with long, hot summers and cool winters. Average temperatures are typically between 33degF and 97degF, with very few days falling below 26degF or exceeding 104degF. The ideal time to visit Timargara is late May to mid-September, when the temperature is comfortable for swimming and sunbathing. In 2023, it will be around February 20.
