LCMS Youth Gathering (Gathering)
For the last three decades, the LCMS has held an annual Youth Gathering, attracting thousands of young people to Houston, Texas. The purpose of this event is to foster community, promote LCMS ministry and affirm its values. In addition, the event is a great opportunity to connect with people of similar faith.
The LCMS Youth Gathering culminates in the concluding Divine Service and Holy Communion. There are also opportunities to share your talents in the arts. To participate in this event, you must submit an application online by April 20, 2022. You can also submit an audition video. Applicants will be notified of their selections by mail by May 25, 2022. Those chosen to sing in the Wind Symphony or Choir will receive music to practice before the Gathering.
Youth Gatherings aim to foster personal relationships with God and foster fellowship in Word and Sacrament in Christ’s Church. They are the vehicle through which the church affirms and empowers its young people for ministry and vocational service. At the same time, they help adult leaders and youth workers grow in their callings and share Christian joy.
Offshore Wind Youth Action
The Offshore Wind Youth Action Club (OWYAC) is a program for New York State students that educates and empowers young people about offshore wind energy. The program is designed to engage middle and high-school students and support clean energy action in communities. The program is composed of three interactive lessons that engage youth on several levels. Teachers, extracurricular educators, and internship program managers can implement the program with students. Young people may also choose to participate independently.
Offshore wind energy is one of the most viable clean energy resources in the United States. The Biden administration has taken early steps to advance the industry, setting a goal of 30 GW by 2030. The administration has also begun to address bottlenecks in permitting and leasing projects that impede the development of offshore wind. Additionally, the administration is working to minimize the negative impacts on the fragile marine ecosystem and to balance offshore wind projects with other uses of the ocean.
The project is currently in the planning stages. The process includes NEPA and opportunities for public input. The project team has a webpage, conference calls, and announcements to keep community members informed. Offshore wind energy development will have a major impact on the local environment and communities, so it is important to ensure that the community is involved during the planning process.

This Way Ahead
The United Nations Organizations have issued an urgent warning about climate change and the need to address it. Global warming is melting the polar ice caps, changing climate cycles, and causing unprecedented damage to plant and animal life. Climate change is also causing air pollution, which is causing 6-7 million premature deaths annually. This Way Ahead for Winds of Change is an initiative to raise public awareness about climate change and demand that governments take action to address the consequences.
The summer of 2022 has already highlighted a plethora of issues. Although young activists face many of the same challenges as older activists, they have different tools to use to make a difference. Their voices are louder, and they have a different perspective on life. They are angry about the wrongs they see in society, and they aren’t afraid to speak up.
The AU-YVC was launched on 3rd December 2010 in Abuja, Nigeria, with the participation of the President of Nigeria and Ministers of Youth from across the African continent. Other high-level representatives of the AU, partner organizations, and Africa’s youth were present at the launch. The organization hopes to foster shared values and Pan-Africanism among the upcoming generation of Africans.
The youth movement has been shaped by the social and political problems facing our society. The youth generation, or Generation Z, has faced enormous challenges as an adult, including the Great Recession. They have witnessed growing societal division and social unrest, and climate change is now a major concern. Moreover, they are experiencing extreme economic hardships.
